Nima Gorji, iranian by birth danish for adoption is a versatile artist, he worked with major labels such as Natural Rhythm, Murmur Records, Echolette Records, International Freakshow, just to know his latest productions of 2010. In the years he received many expressions of esteem and his name also appears in the compilation of Green & Blue cocoon recording license plate. Since its first EP, 1999, In The Sunlight on Orange Records spent a long time, we’ll see how it changed his approach to music and his continual source of inspiration, follow us in the interview:
Hi Nima, welcome on Soundwall.
You are in Ibiza since 2005, for years the temple of the club culture, in your opinion is still the best stage for a DJ?
I live in ibiza since 2005, yes I believe Ibiza is still a place to be for all the dj’s and producers. There is no other locations around the world that goes on with Party everyday for 4 month of the summer.
Many productions over the years, notably a 2010 full of many jobs as “Strangers EP”,” Sometimes”, “Yesterdays Ep”, “Kundi The Mapendo Ep”, there is any special to you in a particular way?
I don’t really have a special feeling about them. I guess any of them can be as special as they are…
A very particular style can be listened in all your productions, from which djs you get inspired from the beginnings?
Well, i’m very happy to hear that, the inspiration comes from all kind of quality dj’s and producers of all genre. Its more then 20 years of collecting records and playing as a dj, so that must been the reason.
There will be new realese on vinyl about the compilation OFF?
Yes, it will be one exclusive track from me, it called “do it together” it will be released around march.
There are many guys who approaches to the console, just a few can get success and become famous. What advice would you give to the young fellahs?
I think Whatever you do it should be because you are passionated and really wanna live of it. As soon as you begin to do things because you wanna have fame or get materialistic success, you will not reach any goal.
Speaking of Ibiza, your name is matched to a big party the zoo project, actually there are two years that this party is on, how you did you get this great audience?
Well, I did not play for zoo the last season. But it’s true I did played the first 2 years. Same time I have been very involved and closer to Ibiza Underground, so finally 2010 was a great year for me as I was holding my residency at Underground and doing FUSE party’s in Ushuaia beach club.
