Biography of Onirik | | | Real name / | Federico Benedetti | | Moniker(s) / | Onirik, Fred Benefit |
London based Federico Benedetti aka Onirik started his quest into sound by digging up EBM and Detroit Electro in the record shops of Brussels. Starting from a darker sound with a melancholic edge he then sunk heavily into anything that would tickle his ears, crossing over several genres including house, techno, electronica, dubstep, funk, rock, soul, jazz or disco. Nonetheless, this wide spectrum of influences often found middle ground in the fascination for trippy and dreamy atmospheres.
In 2007, the move to London consolidated the passion for house music with a dubby and deeper edge, perfect for the early morning sets, once the pressure for stomping peak time beats has faded and the public is ready to drift away in elegance. It’s also in London that he met Cesare Marchese (aka Cesare vs Disorder aka Queen Atom) with whom he manages Serialism Records and Mean Records.
