Biography of Opencloud

Real name /
Moniker(s) / Baggage Handlers, OCD, Planet Doobias

In today’s electronic scene it has become increasingly more difficult to define one’s sound. Technology has simplified the process of making music, which in turn has increased the amount of music one can play. How does one break out of this future world of music and not get lost in the shuffle? How does one define their sound? It does not come easy, and Opencloud has achieved their sound with countless hours in the studio and endless dance floor nights.

Opencloud’s sound is unique and can rarely be classified to one genre. You never know what style to expect with each new release. The only constant is top quality productions and forward thinking music. Because of this, their tracks have garnered the support from the likes of Hybrid, Phil K, Nick Warren, James Zabiela, and have been dropped at some of the biggest club nights in the world. Their sound has been heard on some of the top DJ shows on Kiss FM, Radio 1, XM, and Proton Radio. The duo’s remix work is in high demand as well, with remixes done for Pole Folder, Kirsty Hawkshaw, Randall Jones, Royal Sapien, and Kriece to name a few. Their releases have made them the number one selling artist on Proton Music, and pushed their music around the globe on labels from Praesul, Olaris Records, Arabica, and Infusion’s own label Music for Vinyl.

It is not only their productions that are turning heads, but Opencloud’s performances are not to be missed. Their energy is infectious, as they assault the crowd with low slung funk to massive breaks, and twisted genres in between. Until one has seen their show, it is difficult to explain the experience Opencloud provides to the club goers. Their performances have given them the ability to share the stage over the years at WMC with Spooky, Jonathen Lisle, Pole Folder, and Neil Quigley. As for headlining duties they push their sound across some of the best club cities in the world, ultimately creating new fans wherever they go.

In addition to a busy production and travel schedule, Opencloud has one of the top rated shows on Proton Radio called Open Up. Formerly called Mousa, the show began back in early 2005 and is yet another great avenue to help showcase their varying musical styles. With new DJ mixes provided every month from themselves and guest DJs, one can witness the influences currently affecting their music. It is easy to see why their show Open Up has caused so much attention.

Opencloud’s productions, remixes, and performances have received great praise from the industry and dance community since they came onto the scene in 2004, but what’s next for Opencloud? Where do they go from here? After successfully wrapping up their first full length DJ compilation on Proton Music in 2007, the pair has focused their attention on their debut artist album. Set to release sometime in 2008, the album will feature collaborations from highly respected artists and will push their music in a direction very few have heard, but before the album release expect Opencloud to continue to churn out mind bending remixes and few other surprises on the way. This is Opencloud.
