Biography of Pete Lazonby

Pete Lazonby’s classic ‘Sacred Cycles’ helped define the ethereal, understated melancholic branch of trance otherwise known as progressive house. Ashamed of this legacy, he ran away to New Orleans, the conduit for all African influences on western popular music of the 20th century. Returning to the UK in the mid-noughties, he released new tracks on Germany's legendary Playhouse and Klang Elektronik (2007). In 2009 he launched his own label GHI.
This spell in North America's funkiest city combined with the new focus of regular releases on GHI have produced stunning results: myspace.com/ghiuk

Pete is also known for another classic: Wavespeech, a harbinger of dark house in Vasquez's mid-nineties New York. Less known is his active participation in contemporary classical music as a member of the BBC Symphony Chorus, London's finest large choir. He performed in five Prom concerts in the Royal Albert Hall in the summer of 2009.
