Born in Mumbai, India and matured in New York City, Pranay Mehra, a.k.a. Prawns has been pursuing and sharing his passion for Electronica music since the late 90’s. On moving to NYC, he started off at venues like Porch, Sin-Sin, Key Bar, Moomia, and progressed to regular gigs at top spots like Cielo and Sullivan Room; sharing decks with some of the biggest artists like Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Jody Wisternoff, Josh Wink, Frankie Knuckles and Layo & Bushwacka! to name a few.

In the New York City club scene, Prawns is known for blending varied genres in his live sets. From deep to tech house to techno, from melodic peaks to grounding chunky baselines, he keeps the crowds craving more. Its not only the genres where he shows his versatility, but also the types of venues and parties where he’s played - from boat parties, to beaches, to underground dance clubs to globally acclaimed nightclubs.

Drawing from influences like Desyn Masiello, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, Prawns relentlessly delivers to his loyal listeners and knows how to make fresh crowds move - to create some of the most memorable nights the New York party scene has experienced.
