Rainbow Rob has had an interesting journey in the past few years. This has seen him go from playing in Clubs and Bars in Sheffield where he held a residency at Tech-Noir. To a couple of years spent in Holland playing in warehouses in places such as Rotterdam and intimate DJ cafes in Amsterdam. After spending a summer in Ibiza in 2007 he managed to gain himself an arena at the Zoo Project where he played 7 hours sets taking in every genre of music imaginable with plenty of fun and games for the audience.
This fun style partying which was more relaxed and less serious than “normal” clubbing worked and after moving to London at the end of 2007 he played the midnight set on New Years Eve @ Halo Warehouse. Making the move to London was definitely the right choice at this time for Rainbow, in March 2008 he launched Rainbow Value @ 93 Feet East. Rainbow Value fastly became London’s most fun daytime party with many stars of the scene popping in to play in a crazy Ibizanesque environment.
Taking a break in summer 2008 from promoting to concentrate on DJ’ing, Rainbow played some interesting gigs including the Filth room in Carl Cox’s night at Space Ibiza alongside some of his heroes Francois K & Fatboy Slim. These are not the only legends of the Dance Music scene his has been on the same line up as, Mr C, Luke Slater, Dave Angel and A Guy Called Gerald also feature!
After working on the launch of his labels and a whole new concept for the summer of 2009, Rainbow once again found himself hosting an arena at the legendary Zoo Project all summer. This time featuring an inflatable maze with silent disco headphones, which has just been featured in DJ mags "Extreme Clubbing" article. Rainbow has also been writing for iDJ about download sites and pigeon holing a subject very close to his heart and now also about A & R for new record labels, look out for his Ibiza 2009 Summery coming soon.
Rainbow Value came back to London after the summer 2009 with a great warehouse party and now the release of Mind That Child the first track on Rainbow Value RECORD LABEL, which has been reviewed 9/10 iDJ and 5/5 DMC update.
