Rennie Foster wears his musical influences on his sleeve. First and foremost he is a techno producer, of the Detroit persuasion, however, in his music you can hear 80s synth pop, Old School rave, Detroit techno, Chicago House and dare i even say it minimal. No I shouldn't, there is little of the current trendy minimal. Rennie Foster is an artists, a music maker following in the footsteps of Joy Division, Kraftwerk, Derrick May, Kenny Dixon Jnr, Arthur baker, 45 King, Drexciya, UR and N-Joi. It is of no surprise to discover he is part of the 'bookrealdjs.com and subject detroit movement but you'll know him from the massive club cut this year, Devils Water.
Searchin / Switch Stanbce is his first release on Nice & Nasty. Following in the footstpes of Orlando Voorn, Terrence Dixon and Itokim, Foster is the latest addition to the ever growing Nice & Nasty stable.
Searchin will be followed up by remixe sin 2010, one of which will appear on a nice & Nasty Vinyl sampler. Remixes wil be courtesy of Itokim, The Parallel, Rob Glennon, Jamie Behan, Mark O'Sullivan and Manuel Perez.
Nice & Nasty is one of ireland finest and longest standing labels and also home to Mark O'Sullivan, Marco Bernardi, Tr-one, Mick Chillage and Derek Carr to name a few.
