Rob Meyer is a London-based DJ / Producer. He has fast been building a reputation in London and further afield as an extremely diverse and intelligible musician behind the decks. Having been brought up with strong classical roots, as a pianist and composer, Rob looks at every set of his as a unique platform from which to perform. He thoroughly indulges in the task of keeping the party alive, with his acclaimed intuition of communicating with the crowd's energy, whether it is early on in the evening or carrying on into the following day. Rob's DJing skills have led him to play regularly in all of London's most notable venues such as Fabric, EGG, Public Life, Ministry of Sound and more.
As a producer, Rob is already receiving support across the globe from the likes of Carl Cox, D.Ramirez, Roger Sanchez and Anderson Noise. His tracks have been featured on several podcasts and mixes, as well as national radio airplay reaching as far as the U.S. Rob's unique production sound is made up of a wide range of authoritative, energetic, deep and rhythmic techno that is based upon the principle of keeping the dancing crowd on their toes, through the swift developing and meandering of musical ideas that are often found within Rob's music.
In 2008, Rob joined forces with fellow DJ / Producer, Jon Maker. The two had met through their studies in classical music and had been long time friends for many years before deciding to harmonize as 'Maker + Meyer'. Together, they have constructed a highly advanced live DJ setup which enable the duo to truly exemplify their skills both as greatly talented producers and performers. The past year has seen them perform at some of London's most notorious techno parties, including the likes of Adam Beyer's Drumcode warehouse party, where Maker + Meyer's debut live set was received with great acclaim. Alongside such parties, Maker + Meyer have held a long-standing residency with Ultraplay at Cafe 1001, making them a staple of East London's daytime afterparty culture.
The start of 2011 will see Rob Meyer embark on to the next project of running a new series of events alongside a small collective team, known as 'The Lab'. The events will be focusing on experimental live techno DJ sets which interact seamlessly with other electronic art forms. Furthermore, Rob Meyer's future productions and performances are awaited with much anticipation, with a number of promising projects on their way to completion in due time. |
