Biography of Robotwon | | | Real name / | Jim Edmonds |
Producer and co-founder of Live-in Music Robotwon has immersed himself in developing and promoting the telectro sound. Currently he holds down residencies with London nights FFaction, Live-in and Maximal. The past 12 months has seen R1 playing in Amsterdam, Russia and at the infamous Firefly in Nottingham. Summer festivals beckon with dates already booked up for Glastonbury and Di-FI.
The next few months sees Robotwon push forward with a hectic release schedule starting in July 2008 with ‘Sabre’ a twisting telectro monster that is already doing damage on the dance floor. This will be followed by a double A-side in May 08 of ‘Shake, Shake’ and ‘Wolfe’. Alongside his own releases, Robotwon is increasingly in demand as a remixer and was a finalist with his remix of ‘Salmon Dance’ by the Chemical Brothers. He has also just put the finishing touches to a remix of Tamper by Max Cooper for Evolved Records.
His sets involve 2 x CDJ, 2 x Decks and effects courtesy of a Kaos 2 pad enabling him to layer and splice multiple tracks into truly unique audio goodness. In combination with It’s Real! Robotwon also performs a full AV set and is currently building a 15ft interactive robotic platform for the festival season.
