Creative Director by day and internationally recognized DJ and producer by night (or vice versa), there has always been one constant in Salah’s life: CREATIVITY.
A multi-cultured creative who, for the last 21 years, has excelled in the field of music and design working with and alongside a number of high profile international and regional creative agencies, clients, brands, venues and artists.
His hunger and professionalism has translated across to his musical career as well, something which is apparent to anyone who has heard him play.
An experience of any of Salah’s magical sets is one that remains with you for days, weeks and months. It’s from within his soul that this talented and well-exposed DJ reaches out, with a style of music that spans deep - house - groovy - minimal - electronica - techno - acid - disco - dub - abstract beats and pieces that gets under your skin; a truly experienced diverse style that never fails to infect the listener with a dirty groove.
Born and raised in Bahrain, Salah’s ability to get a serious party going puts him up with the very best in the business. These are the skills that he developed from the very young age of 14, spinning at the infamous “Tameem” night club, other small underground gigs, then becoming the weekend resident dj at “Likwid” Bahrain and gradually building a repertoire that crosses continents.
Close to home, he has played alongside a few big artists in Dubai (U.A.E.), including Laurent Garnier, Peace Division, Josh Wink, Satoshi Tomiie, Desyn Masiello, Seamus Haji, Jef K, DJ T, Solomun, Luke Solomon and Lexicon Avenue (Shindig parties). His adventures also take him to Toronto, Paris, Germany, Lebanon and Holland (Amsterdam mostly). Where he has played live sets on Radio Activity’s (radio-activity.nl) Danzolectro segment, featured as guest on Electronation’s (www.electronation.nl) Electronation radio, RINFM.COM’s Amniotik Sounds and The Juice on Spin Radio Jordan. Salah has also featured in regular events in the Netherlands (including Amsterdam Dance Event, the Queen’s Day Street and Playground parties (2004 + 2005), TWSTD, Supper Club, Studio 80, Sugar Factory, Club 11 and Club More in Amsterdam, in addition to Member’s Only in Utrecht), a special in Paris (Silver Network Anniversary @ Showcase) and recently a regular in Beirut at 10|384 .
In the regional scene, Salah has been found teaming up with world-class DJs at various venues in both Bahrain, Dubai and Abu Dhabi and is the brains and talent behind the successful Techfui residency, that ran for over four years inviting DJs, both local and international, including the likes of Peace Division, Ame, Mazi, Richard Parker and more. The brand lives on with his sets and a new residency at the new 10|384 creative space in Beirut
Now based in Dubai, Salah is a regular at leading venues like Trilogy, Nasimi Beach, Madinat Rooftop, Barasti Beach House, Alpha, 360, M-Dek, and CHI. He has also brought his Techfui nights to the city at the underground club Catwalk. Salah is only starting to spread his musical vibe in the region with still more in the works, both in the DJ booth and the studio with a few tracks with Raxon and Fredrick Stoned already finished and waiting release. October 2010 also brought the launch of Salah’s new online dj mix concept show for inthemix.ae called ‘The Crate”.
Renowned across continents as a serious performer, Salah has a unique ability to keep a room full of people grooving for hours. Just be warned though: once you’ve heard one of his sets, you’ll definitely want to come back for more.
