Born in the Year 1982 in Dessau / Germany, Steffen Freier aka Sedative, started DJing at the End of the 90’s.
As Cinex and Steve Mode he learned to play with Vinyl and played in some Local Clubs at Saarland/Germany like KuFa. After few Years he encounters Ariel from EMG who starts a little Booking Company which Steffen joined in. After this he played in different Locations/Clubs in Europe and gain in Experience or meet people like Chris Liebing, Richie Hawtin, Magda or Blake Baxter.
Inspirational from the upcoming Technique like Final Scratch he also wanted to get more Options and creativity in his DJ Sets and started to play with Final Scratch and External FX.
Every time expedite of new technical things he also learned to use Ableton and changed in 2008 his Artist name to “Sedative”
But the technical Options in his DJ Sets wasn’t enough for him and so he bought a Allen & Heath Xone 3D and switched from Final Scratch to Traktor.
In the Middle of 2008 he finished his Audio Engineer and moved to Berlin. There he starts to work for a German Label to collect more Experience.
December 2009 he started his own Booking Agency and Label which is called Digress.
Digress started also a Podcast on iTunes to present you monthly a fresh DJ Set by named Performers or Newcomers. In 2010, Digress will also bring out there first Release with Remixes by named Artists.

In his Performance Setup he uses Traktor Pro with 4 Decks which were controlled by the Xone 3D. With a second Laptop he controls Ableton Live and the Native Instruments Maschine Software.
Sound between Minimal and Techno with a lot of Loops, FXs or own created Track Edits make his DJ Set every Time different.
