Joining a band when he was 17, he soon became influenced by house music and progressed to getting a set of turntables and DJing when he was 20. Artists like Kerri Chandler, Silicone Soul, Nick Holder, Charles Webster and the US west coast house guys like Rithma and Miguel Migs impacted on Simon and soon after led to formation of the group Resoul with brother Brian, Dave Hughes and Liam Kelly.
