Fri, 02 Mar 2012  /  Post a commentGood evening, Freaks! First off, Happy Leap Year! Especially to all you Leap year babies; I hope you’re getting your swerve on as we speak! This week was 1Bitch4Decks, Freaks, and you know how I do; I play, have fun, and I get down.
Before I let you know go, there's 2 things I wanted bend your ear on: 1st: Hot damn! BCH is going to be 3 years old next week!! And as a treat I've invited the very dude that gave me my show on CHFM; the one and only DJ Camouflage will be in the BCH booth for his very first visit, Freaks, and I hope you can join us as we celebrate and dance off into the moonlight.
Also, for all you producers (bedroom or not) out there who love a challenge, BCH is throwing a Remix contest out there; and this month we're looking for a great boot of Donna Summer's "Bad Girls". We don't care how you do it, all we care about is that's it a HOUSE MUSIC remix. No dubstep, no trance, no prog - House (deep, funky, jackin', soulful (though, Bad Girls soulful remix? Really?), etc. Hit me up if you're interested, and I can provide you with all the details.
Lastly, I would like to send BIG love out to Mason Fisher for providing this week's BCH artwork!
Well see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music & Freak Freely, -Sista ?

Good Evening, Freaks! For tonight's show we brought you the lovely, and very talented, Melody Fisher. This Portland-native is one of the original Hustlers of the twilight set, and most nights you'll usually find her supporting music through her local and our global-scene, in general. Which is sorta how she found BCH, and we found a new Friend.
Thu, 26 Jan 2012  /  Post a commentGood Evening, Freaks! I hope this finds you ready for a boogie, and ready to work off some of the strife! As you can tell by the title, tonight’s show was a wiggly free-for-all of whatever the hell I wanted to play. A goulash of House Music, so to speak, that somehow werked (yes, i meant to spell it like that)! I mean, come on, it’s my Birthday show … what did you expect? Requests? ;)
Thu, 19 Jan 2012  /  Post a commentWhat up, Freaks! This week we welcome DJ/Producer, Scott Diaz, to the BCH booth. Unless you've been under a dance floor, there is no way you could've missed him in the year past. He's been producing and DJing for over a decade, and remixing h.e.a.v.y. for others for just as long. 2011 saw a very productive year for this Englishman on his solo projects for his labels, Solo Traxx and Connect:d, with over 10 releases that include numerous side-projects like, Movi-Starr ft. Lenny Hamilton Jr, just to name one. What makes Scott's music so appealing to the mass es is his ability to keep you moving. With influences ranging all across the board, his music is based in Funk, Soul, and Feel-Good - which you can never go wrong with, am I right, Freaks? If 2010-2011's hard work is what we're to go by, this dancer has a BIG feeling that you'll be hearing a lot more from Scott Diaz in 2012 as well. The guy doesn't know what it means to stop! (playlist attached to mp3)
Where's Scott Diaz?? Facebook | ? Soundcloud | ? Twitter | ? Booking We'll see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely, Sista ?
Sun, 08 Jan 2012  /  Post a commentWell, hot damn, Freaks … We survived – yet another – year. And WHAT a year it was, hey! First off, Happy New Year 2012 to ALL of you!! *click on link for mp3*
And now, instead of looking back, let’s looking forward … 2012 is already promising to be a great year in House Music. I’m personally looking forward to hearing more from artists like J. Paul Getto, Jam Funk, Just Voya, Mark Funk, Steve Dare, Le Babar, Metro Housing Authority, Juan Carlos Herrera, MrHun, Darren McLean, The Black Project, and Freaky Funk. As well as industry staples like Gene Farris, Oliver $, U-Turn, and Phil Weeks (just to name a few). Either way, something tells me that House is finding it’s footing once again – and this bitch couldn’t be happier!
We’ll see you next week, Freaks! Enjoy Music and Freak Freely, -Sista ?
Tue, 13 Dec 2011  /  Post a commentGood Evening, Freaks! Last night’s show was packed with punches from our guest, BCH Res., Eddie Spettro. There really is no way to describe Spettro, you honestly just have to experience him. And, trust me – last night’s mix from him is a great place to start. Sat, 15 Oct 2011  /  Post a comment*Brick City House - Your Mid-Week Freak. Tune-in - Freak out.*
Hi Freaks! BCH is back on the podcast, with a new home, new feed, and new shows. We're about 6 episodes backed up, and they're all posted on our new site.
Here's last week's show:
Good Evening, Freaks! I hope this finds you well ... and ready for a little bounce. This week's show is recommended for those who love basslines. Deep, rolling, disco, driving, and sometimes grinding basslines. If you're listening to this in your headphones, then I think you'll have an extra appreciation, dig? There's some nice cuts in here from some solid producers who I tip my kangol to, with a message: Please. Don't. Stop.
Sat, 16 Jul 2011  /  Post a commentGood Evening Freaks!
For tonights show we brought back a BCH favorite that hails all the way from McAllen, Texas. Some call him Rey, other's call him "El Rey", we call him "Wonderkid".
Rey's approach to House music is unique; he's got the uncanny ability to sweep the listener up in a cocoon of his vision. When he was on our show last year, Rey declared that House was going back to it's rhythms. A few months later he released his first full-length album, that has snapped the attention of some heavy-hitters, with "Martleb" being the first single of his album to take on a life of its own. Personal fav of ours: "Muchedumbre" (seriously give that one a damn good beating!). All in all, Rey gave it to us on a 'snap 101' level, and that is the muthafreakin' truth!! No, allow me to correct myself ... Rey Aguilar IS the muthafreakin' 'truth'. And you can bet your sweet booty that you'll be hearing more from him right here on BCH.
Tune in next week, as we welcome back BCH Resident, Nick Dare, for another home-spun House session. He's a champion behind the decks and NEVER one to miss!
Much love and appreciation is being sent out to you, Freaks! Thanks for supporting this House hustle we like to call "your mid-week Freak".
Freak Freely and Enjoy Music,
BCH
Sun, 10 Jul 2011  /  Post a commentHey hey, Freaks! Not too much to say this week ... we've been too busy being locked-down to some lawn chairs watching the birds go by. An occasional fox too ... That was awesome.
Not too much to say this week ... we've been too busy being locked-down to some lawn chairs watching the birds go by. An occasional fox too ... That was awesome. Dazed from the sun, I managed to peel myself off the chair and, with a back covered in wicked red stripes, zombie-strolled to the decks just in time for this week's BCH. This weeks show was all about the shimmy. I tried my best to imagine as if this show was coming to you straight from a beach. So what if the sand in my garden (which I'm sure the neighboring cats use as a their own personal bathroom) is the closest thing that even resembles a memory of a beach trip? The peeps in my chat were with me for it, and that was all I needed. Here's to some jazzy, soulful, shimmery, sashaying, shimmying House Music. Hope you enjoy it, Freaks.
Tune in next week as we welcome back Rey Aguilar to the BCH booth. Y'all know he wrecked shop the last time he was on the show .. well, he's back for round 2! Get ready to get-down boogie and shake your hips.
Till next week, Freaks, try find a nice sunny patch and sit in it. If not for a minute, then at least for 30 seconds.
Enjoy Music and Freak Freely,
Sista

Thu, 30 Jun 2011  /  Post a commentHello Summer! Hello Freaks!
I'm going to keep this one short and sweet ... because there's 2 hours of stoopidness and a boogie-good time, packed into this tiny big mp3 that's just ready to go.
Summer is here, and all of the resident freaks at BCH are takin it eeeeeeeasy. With so much going on here in the Lo-n-gritty (and the rest of the world. yes, we're that spread out), we've got plenty going on outside ... and are eager to share it with all of you! Next week we've got Rey Aguilar (McAllen, Tx) steppin' back into the BCH booth, with to-the-brim hottness. The week after that we've got BCH resident Nick Dare, back for his House attack! And the week after that ... well ... you're guess is as good as ours. But we can promise you this: you WILL have a boogie, and you WILL get down.
[caption id="attachment_1840" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="click here 4 mix"] [/caption]
But before we let you go, we wanted to give you an exclusive mix called "Brick City Summer" (right-click save as... or listen) from our hostess, Sista Stroke, that she made exclusively for the summer escapades you'll be taking around your city this summer. It was made with that "walk or ride" in mind, as you soak up the shimmery scenery that surrounds you. You can cop your copy by clickin' on the pic or link above, and we do hope you enjoy it, Freaks!
Till Next week, Freaks, keep. it. Freaky!
Enjoy Music and Freak Freely.
Peace,
BCH Crew
Wed, 22 Jun 2011  /  Post a commentGood Evening, Freaks!
For this week’s show we have a stunning mix from a BCH fav., the one and only, DJ/Producer, Frique.
Since we last had Frique in the BCH booth in 2009, this man has made some major moves in music. 2011 has seen the launch of his new label, Son of Lea, plus a few remixes like, Baghdaddy's "Hot Shit (The DJ Frique Mix)" out on D'lectable Music, and
Billy the Kid's "Cantin Flora (The DJ Frique Mix)" out on Panama Red Records. One thing that Frique doesn't know the meaning of "sitting still" ... and thank Gawd for that! Keep your ears to the ground for this DJ/Producer, Freaks, you will not be disappointed with what's been swirlin' in his mind.

Sat, 14 May 2011  /  Post a commentGood afternoon, Freaks!
This week's BCH show is hitting on slightly different stroke (heh, no pun intended - but still, it could be. read on ...). After listening to the playback of wed's show, we came to the conclusion that there were simply too many hiccups in the stream, therefore rendering the recording pretty damn bad. So! *rubs hands together* We're gonna do something different this week, Freaks, and give you 2 hours of a soundtrack specifically made for any start to your day ..
and who better than our very own BCH resident, DJ John Simmons, to thump along with us.
John delivers in the 2nd hour with a mix that had us hootin' n hollerin', booty's swinging, and hands clappin. The chat room was feelin' it, the peeps on twitter were shoutin' us out, and well, damn ... John killed it. Can't stress enough how hard this man hustles his game, and pushes himself, so that any given night you will find him playing somewhere in Chicago. Can't also stress enough on how great of a DJ he really is ... and that's truth. Keep up with Mr. Simmons on Twitter and Facebook.
For the first hour, I'm up with a new mix that I've just added to my "Sensuality" series called,"Fluffy Pillows & Roller-skates" Vol. 4. Its a chill-out lounge mix that's chunked with dirty funk, down-tempo, up-bounce, and even some jazztronica. It ain't House Freaks, but its still something that'll kick a pep in your step as you get going in your daily groove. Either way, John and I both hope you feel us with today's show.
Small note before I let you go, Freaks: For those of you on there, you know that Facebook has been recently going through a whole bunch of changes. It's evolved into something that ... well, frankly pisses us off at times. With any transformation there's always going to be hiccups, and BCH has been faced with a hiccup that actually has us a bit excited. Our BCH group is scheduled to be archived in the coming weeks, and instead of being forced into a group we've decided to take out a new Facebook page .. and you can visit it now here. Your key to our new flat is waiting for you, all you gotta do it is hit that "like" button ;). Of course, please feel free to pass it on to everyone
Till next week, Freaks, We Love ya'!
Enjoy Music and Freak Freely.
Peace.
