Ever since childhood, Sousa and Schmidt have been making music in diverse ways. Schmidt became fascinated with electronic music and dj’ing in his early tweens, developing impressive technical skills and a great understanding and appreciation of the pioneering sounds of techno/house.

Sousa, on the other hand, has been playing a number of different instruments in various live-performing bands and thus developed an understanding of harmonies and composition of music.

The two met in high school where Schmidt introduced Sousa to some of electronic music’s great artists, quickly lighting a passion similar to Schmidt’s own, and pushing Sousa towards taking his first baby steps behind the decks. After high school they went their separate paths, only to resume their collaboration a little later and gear up for new adventures. They began hosting and dj’ing at parties and soon discovered an amazing chemistry behind the decks, encouraging them to create Sousa/Schmidt.

After a couple of years behind the decks together they have taken their partnership to next level and begun producing.
First release from duo descriped as "Denmarks handsomest duo", Safira, was out in October getting proper attention and 2011 will see more new releases.

Sousa/Schmidt held a residency at Copenhagen’s biggest Thursday-club, Villains Club, for two years and are now regulars at Jolene and Dunkel.
