Biography of Stevie(all)Day | | | Real name / | Stevie Day | | Moniker(s) / | Set 2/Articide |
Sometimes I play tunes and jump up and down. When I'm having a more sedentry moment I run Sheffields Dirty Little Secret party and production project which has spawned Collect!@Redhouse- playing monthly bouts of techyness for the people. Collect! is growing in stature now showcasing the best local talent to great acclaim and an increasingly loyal following. Both the music and the crowd serve to make the friendliest atmosphere you could hope to find in this increasingly posing ponce driven corner of British nightlife.
The summer just ending has given us the opportunity to play quite a few outdoor parties as well which we were keen to do after several years abstinence. A summer break from promoting has allowed a bit more concentration on the music which is obviously the whole point in the end.
Dirty Little Secret has always sat in the 'cultural industries quarter' of Sheffield which is a laughable description if you have seen it. This place hosted our legendary after parties amongst the urban decay.
We are now in the process of moving to phase two which is a large complex of music, art and other studios with a venue and art exhebition spaces.
It also holds my studio and piles of less usefull equipment that will one day soon assist us to forge a new British electronic sound. (!!!)
Alongside Endless Promotions I also ran this summers Land festival in Lincolnshire. This was a larger scale event based on the continuing ethos to promote local talent both well known and not. Quality DJs, bands and sound made this a quality offering. Next years event has just entered the planning stages and the only way to go is bigger and better. We also promise the security wont be playing war games with the party folk this time around.
We have two other Sheffield residencies at the popular Sawa and The Harley and with high profile events on the horizon on both the playing and promoting fronts I'm starting to wonder where the catch is. See ya! |
