Stevie G is a DJ from Cork in Ireland who works with RedFM, presenting Red Drive, The Hitlist and his specialist show, Black on Red. He is probably best known for being one of the main hip-hop/soul DJ's in Cork and Ireland over the last number of years.
He has been DJing in Cork since the early 90's in legendary clubnights such as Sweat in Sir Henrys, Mor Disco, Free La Funk, Yo Latino and also Jam and Jam Junior at the Savoy and the Pavilion. He has also held down long term residencies at clubs around Ireland such as Brown Sugar at the Kitchen in Dublin, U-Turn at Ri Ra in Dublin, Jazz Juice at the GPO in Galway, Thompson Garage in Belfast, the Soul Clinic, Dee-Bop, Meltdown and Mo Bounce in Limerick and played abroad in the United States and the U.K. on numerous occasions. He also produces music occasionally and has had some releases alongside Greg and Shane in the early days of Fishgodeep and Deep South productions.
He also writes a music column for the Evening Echo and used be a regular contributor to the U.K.'s Blues and Soul, the longest running black music magazine in the world. Stevie has DJ'd with many big names over the years, and Jam has hosted Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, Kanye West, Jazzy Jeff, Candi Staton, Sly and Robbie, Roy Ayers, Gil Scott Heron, Lee Perry, De La Soul and more. He has also warmed up for such big names as Jay Z, Destiny's Child, Kelis, Massive Attack, 50 Cent and many more and he continues to be one of the most influential DJ's in Cork and Ireland. Ireland.
