 | | | Real name / | tim smyth | | Aliases / | thatboytim, black sea project | from teenage punk and alternative rock bands to todays electronic productions thatboytim has been making music for over two decades now. when techno ,electro and house started to become a major part of his listening habits, it wasn't long before tim started to slowly teach himself to dj on his mate therarelowry's turntables.
in 2000 tim relocated from belfast to dublin, where its lively dance music scene and brimming record shops heaped more fuel on the fire. takeover records was set up with therarelowry and agent foot in 2000, and a series of eps featuring the work of this circle of friends appeared over the next five years showcasing an experimental dancefloor style touching on electro,dub,breakbeat, and chicago house.
