"The guilty blaze another sort of road"
With that being said I am the bastard son of Brian Jones and Anita Pallenberg and apparently three yrs. older than I claim to be. I prefer deep space techno of the Detroit variety but I also am into other forms of glamorous sleaze like "Piss Factory" by Patti Smith and pretty much all Motor City rock n roll in general. And while Sixties and Seventies punk still runs strong in my veins, these days I have no interest in popular music of any kind, all of which are all inferior to the robotic precision of techno.
Music has played an important role in my life since my grandmother started giving me 45s as a toddler back in the early 70s. I have now been in the business of making and selling music for 20 years. In that time I ran a company called VinylJunkie.com, an international record service for DJs that some of you may remember. Prior to that I worked for many years at the illustrious Bomp! Records-America's first true indie label the way we know them today-and despite any of his (or my) shortcomings I still count the late Greg Shaw as a mentor. These days I spend a lot of time in the headphones as a DJ and do a lot of freelance music writing especially for my own blogsite 24 Hour Party People eternally wishing that I would someday sit down and write a piece as good as Lester Bangs' "James Taylor Marked For Death". That is of course when I am not hiking in the woods with my wife. |
