| | | Real name / | Shannon Hay | The Cleaner began DJ’ing in 1991, when whilst living in Newcastle he would make the journey to Sydney most weekend’s to get his vinyl fix from the local record stores. After an initial period of honing his mixing skills at home, he embarked on the local Newcastle rave and party circuit, which brought him to the attention of DJ Mark N (Bloody Fist, Nasenbluten).
Through the mentorship of Mark N, The cleaner refined his sound to a cross between Jungle & Hardcore, regularly playing on Mark N’s weekly radio show ‘Nose Bleed’, and regular gigs around Newcastle, including a residency at Smoke Sc..
