Discovered in 2003 with his DJ residency at Rex Club for the BPitch Control parties, Timid Boy (Damien Almira) quickly established himself as a great value of the Parisian scene. Booked with the biggest Dj's (Jeff Mills, Ellen Allien, Booka Shade, Tiga, The Hacker, Sascha Funke, Roman Flügel, DJ Hell, Supermayer, Francois K, Paul Kalkbrenner…), the French DJ evolves between dynamic minimal house and deep hypnotic techno.

Timid Boy aka Damien Almira is also a very well known French musical journalist, specialist of electronic music; he worked 10 years for famous magazines such as Rock&Folk, Technikart and Trax (the leader of electronic French press).

In March 2009, Timid Boy releases his firsts tracks with the “Split EP” on Time Has Changed label and “Where is the Bang Bang EP” on 4line Records (strong support by Loco Dice, Dubfire, Chloé, Danton Eeprom, Masomenos, Seuil, Andrew Grant, Livio & Roby, Rone, Sei A, Milton Jackson, Peter Kruder…). “Hermann is speaking” is heavy supported by Trax Magazine in France, who publishes the track it in its CD sampler.

Released in April the same year, his 12’’ “La Nuit” represents an important step: the record is played by Richie Hawtin, and is n°1 in Miss Jools’s charts. His following releases (on labels such as Percusa or Monique Musique) are supported by Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Loco Dice, Dubfire or Sebo K, and by the new house killers Dop, Nick Curly, Julien Chaptal, Masomenos…

His dancefloor and hypnotic style seduces the Spanish house crew from Circo Loco/DC 10 in Ibiza : the resident Tania Vulcano and Andrew Grant decide to sign Timid in their labels Isgud and Barraca (his track « Londres » was played in winter 2010 in almost all Marco Carola’s gigs).

Timid Boy’s tracks are reviewed in magazines as Trax, Tsugi, DJ Mag, Ibiza Voice… and played on radios Buzz’n’Fly, Ibiza Global Radio, Radio France, Doce Pulgadas, TRE Irland, FaithFanzine (Ministry of Sound’s radio). In September 2009, his mix for the famous French podcast Get The Curse has a nice success.


TIME HAS CHANGED
Since 2009, Timid Boy is running with Acumen Time Has Changed. This young label has quickly become one of the best new tech house / deep house label. Played and supported by the greatest Dj's (Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Laurent Garnier, Raresh, Dubfire, Nick Curly, Loco Dice, Carl Cox, Steve Bug, Anja Schneider...), Time Has Changed grows up with huge tunes to come in winter 2009/2010 with EPs from Acumen, Timid Boy, Andrade or Lucy and remixes by Alex Celler, Kiki, Glimpse, Okain, Daniel Sanchez, Mihai Popoviciu, Oxia.

2010 represents a new step for Timid Boy:
In February, his new 12” « Chicago Story » (remix by Oxia) reaches n°1 on Junodownload all catégories charts and n° 8 on Beatport tek house charts.
He will also release his music on Time Has Changed, Bitten (the new 2000 and One’s label), Darkroom Dubs (Silicone Soul’s label), Kina Music, Suara (Coyu’s label) Jay Haze’s label TuningSpork, Barraca or Hi Freaks.

Timid Boy will also mix the first Time Has Changed CD compilation « Overview » (out in june) with 100% exclusive tracks, remixes and collaborations from Kiki, Oxia, Carlo Lio, Mihai Popoviciu, Glimpse, Martin Czubala, Re-Up, Miss Jools, Sasch BBC, Acumen, John Dimas, Andrade, Timid Boy…
