I have know about Timmy Regisford for a long time, read a little about his influence in the house scene and in particular in New York. A man there at the beginning, revered by his peers and someone who has rubbed shoulders with everyone who is anyone in house music.
When I heard he was playing at East Village in London on 14 May I was certainly an excited man and after attending a few of the previous Vintage House Foundation events, the music has always been brilliant.
What I realised though was that I don't think I had ever heard a mix from Timmy Regisford and all I really knew of him musically was not from listening but from reading. So after looking into finding some recent mixes from him, I stumbled across some amazing archive mixes from radio shows in the 80's and after listening to a few, I had to share them with as many people as possible.
Some of them are simply classic.
