 | | | Real name / | Jay Dee Blackburn | Vanisher was born and raised in the Michigan college town Ann Arbor. AT age 14 in 1993 he started attending the now legendary loft parties in Detroit. At this time plus 8 and Ritchie Hawtin donimated the Detroit rave scene.Vanisher enjoyed Detroit techno but knew there was other forms of dance music out there.Vanisher and long time friend DJ Instep skipped what was to be one legendary detroit underground party JAK and instead drove to Toronto to a Syrous production called renegades. This is where cosmic shifts in the solar system turned them from speaker humpers to Junglists.
