Maybe it could be a coincidence, but when DJ Hell is betting everything on an artist he is never wrong!
Maybe it could be a coincidence, but when DJ Hell is betting everything on an artist he is never wrong! Pascal Arbez-Nicolas is formed in the middle of the French rave scene. He started producing, under the alias of “Dima”, that kind of underground techno of which, slowly, we are unfortunately losing tracks. Then, thanks to his friend Michel Amato (The Hacker), the artist is welcomed in the arms of DJ Hell, exploding in the global electronic scene. The one of Vitalic it’s a particularly intriguing evolution, a growth that moves frantically between techno, acid, electro, rock, and that with time approachs more and more to studied melodies, materializing itself in “OK Cowboy” and “Flashmob”. Vitalic is a profoundly dynamic figure and this becomes clear when you listen to him during one of his live set: there are no time-out, for two hours non-stop he forces the audience to squirm incessantly. He told us a bit of his origins, his technical choices, his musical tastes, of the reasons that lie behind some of his productions, he told us a bit of his love for valves and knobs, and finally he suggested us to get ready to his next album, which will be completed in about six months!
The DanceTrippin crew touched down in the desert in Spain for the incredible Monegros Desert Festival. We caught Vitalic delivering an exquisite electro and techno blended liveset for the party nomads who ventured into the desert for this special event...
Clever Photoshop trickery? No chance. See how the artwork for the French producer's Flashmob LP was put together whilst listening to the album opener "See the Sea (Red)."
Vitalic makes a welcome return with the video to the first single from his new album. Tune is called "Your Disco Song," and the album is (finally!) due out in September.
