Biography of Werner Niedermeier

Werner started his DJ career in the early 90s in Germany. Travelling around the globe, Werner played to appreciative clubbers at prestigious venues such as Yellow (Tokyo), Fabric (London), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris) and Turntables on the Hudson (NYC) to name but a few.
In 1999, he created his own label together with production partner Sefty called Soul Camp Recordings in Berlin. Werner went on to work for labels such as Liquid Sound Lounge, Sense Music and ROI/TOI. He also worked on remixes for artists like Reel People, Terry Callier, Lenny Fontana, Phonique, Worldless People and Robert Owens.
Leaving Berlin in 2002, living in Spain for a year in between, he moved to London to start working at Flying Records, joined the production outfit Notenshun and worked for Chillifunk Records as a studio engineer. At the time he had numerous releases in cooperation with Lofty (Notenshun), Sandy Mill, Ultra Nate, Ann Saunderson and remixed the likes of Nathan Haines, Spirit Catcher, Sequential Soul, M-Swift & Diplomats Of Soul.
In 2006 he joined Miss Jools’s (Mobilee) monthly “Clandestino” event at Mr. C’s AKA/The End as a resident DJ. New releases and remixes on labels such as Phonica Records, Wandering, Supplement Facts, Broque, Room With A View and many more were released due to the period of 2007 to 2009.
Year 2010 started very busy for Werner with productions to be released on Supplemental, Boxer Recordings, Nummer Schallplatten, Broque and Bulletdodge including remixes for
Guy Gerber (Visionquest) and Pig & Dan (Cocoon).
2011 more productions and remixes were released on Off Recordings, Buena Onda, Compost and Kling Klong in collaboration with Varoslav and Gareth Whitehead.
2012 has proved to be another productive year for Werner with several releases on labels such as Something Different Records, Tulipa Recordings, Asymmetric Recordings, Broque, Elevation Limited as well as Sunshine Generation Records and Natural Rhythm in collaboration with Master Seb (Affolai, WiN Rec) plus remixing Zoe Xenia, Mia Wallace, Fred Siera to name but a few.
Recently he released on Rue De Plaisance (France), DeNote Records (France), JETT Records (France) Headset Recordings (San Francisco) and KGBeats (Chicago).
The new label “WiN Recordings” founded by Gareth Whitehead and Werner has started of well in early 2013 and more releases are in the pipeline yet. Meanwhile remixes for Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records as well as a collaboration with XPress 2 on Steve Bug’s Audiomatique together with Gareth Whitehead and a remix for Flumo Recordings are on the way.
