Martin Mueller and Daniel Stroeter of youANDme have been DJ’ing and producing since 1995, always keeping track of the true character of deep funk and soul, but remaining raw and kicking. Not limiting themselves to certain styles and genres, a typical full length youANDme set comprises waves out of house, techno, dub and electronica – not precisely attuned DJ tools that keep the energy level up at the expense of creativity and surprise.
youANDme releases have found their way to the streets through labels like Ornaments, Cocoon, Dekadent Schallplatten, Compost, Platzhirsch, 2020:Vision, Snork and their own imprints Rotary Cocktail Recordings, Polymorph and cutz.me .
In 2009 the rise of youANDme was fuelled by “Papa” Sven Väth who picked youANDme’s edit of Mark Broom vs. Brothers Vibe ‘Mind/Feeling’ for his The Sound Of The 10Th Season mix compilation, promptly drawing attention for the duo who, back then, were a dark horse for a few insiders who knew.
2010 has seen the release of youANDme’s first mix compilation Ornaments Symphony on jewel case label Ornaments. The mix got overwhelming feedback and was labelled “Album of the month” by German De:Bug Magazine, who also rated youANDme’s ‘I like’ “Single of the month” .
