Sat, 10 Sep 2011  /  Post a commentThis summer was huge for the Z Boys as they released their 1st EP, "I don't remember asking..." EP, on Pierre Deutschmann's K:Lender Recordings as well as releasing a remix for Johnny Cruz and Flavio Acaron's "Reach 2 Control" on Alex Niggemann's Soulfooled Music.
The first release came out under Soulffoled, Johnny Cruz and Flavio Acaron's - "Reach 2 Control" (Hugh Harry Remix). . Major support for this track came from the likes of: Alex Niggemann, Steve Bug, Richie Hawtin, Audiofly, Martin Landsky, Luna City Express, Catz n' Dogz, Alland Bayallo, Martin Dawson, Gel Abril, SIS, Andrew Grant.
From the Beatport description:
"Hugh Harry delivers his own remix. While Jonny keeps the vocal parts on his original more decent, Mr. Harry builds a totally new song with them. Well timed native drums, a deep bassline and alternative percussions create a dark and up-lifting but still relaxed mood."
The release of Z Boys' 1st EP, "I don't remember asking..." EP, on K:Lender came out second. Two tracks on this release: "I don't remember asking..." and "Moving Target". The tracks have a bigger room type feel and are a bit faster paced BPM than the release on Soulfooled. A bit of a throwback feel to "I don't remember asking..." and a move it or loose it funk to "Moving Target, which has a male speech sample that references music; as well as our society... Both tracks on this release have had MAJOR success on the dance floors of San Juan, place of residence for the Z Boys.
More material being worked on as we speak. you can catch some sneak peeks at http://soundcloud.com/z-boys, as well the releases mentioned in this feed. You can download some of Z Boys promotional DJ sets on their soundcloud as well.
