Tiefschwarz + Spektrum
+ local support
Much like Daft Punk in 1997 and Felix Da Housecat in 2001, Germany’s Tiefschwarz are about to leave an imperiously sized impression upon the electronic music scene.. Brothers Ali and Basti Schwarz founded Tiefschwarz in 1996, with Peter Hoff, completing their production team. These days, Ali and Basti look back on an extremely successful DJing career of over ten years. The inspiration for their project name, Tiefschwarz – a combination of the brothers’ family name and their love of deep house music, “tief” meaning deep, and “Schwarz” black –, came to Ali and Basti after one of their gigs.
Their remixes are the stuff of legend: Kelis, The Rapture, DJ Hell and, perhaps most notably, Spektrum (their awesome rewiring of Kinda New) have all benefited from their magical sparkle dust Having preached their driving sermon across the globe, their ability to move dance floors worldwide has fed straight back into their burgeoning sound. With new album ‘Eat Books’ just released in Australia and their impending summer tour this is the sound of the future of dance.
As a band Spektrum are hard hitting tight 21st century funk with punk attitudes. Spektrum have recently played some eye popping, jaw dropping, show stopping live gigs featuring the vocals, attitude, and performance talents of Lola Olafisoye and the experimental electroacoustic performance and production of the classically trained Gabriel Olegavich. Making their mark globally with their hit single Kinda New, these guys are the ones to watch in 2006
