Who are ALiVE?
ALiVE are DJ’s Tom Budden, Mouj and Peircey. Taking its name from label boss Tom Budden’s proton radio show and the legendary High Tide after party in Southampton, ALiVE aims to reflect Tom’s forward thinking approach to dance music and provide a home for the finest cuts of deep and tech house.
Over the last 12 months, Tom and the boys have been busy releasing material through ALiVE recordings and also working on their own solo projects. Tom’s DJ’ing have taken him all around the world and has seen him playing alongside some of the most respected DJ’s on the scene - Sven Vath, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli, Steve Bug and Steve Lawler to name but a few. Having spent all of last summer on the White Isle playing in some of the most esteemed venues and underground clubs alike, Mouj has become a key player on the after hours scene with his residency at Jaded, London’s finest after party.
Last month marked ALiVE’s landmark 10th release - Tom’s track “The Tree dance”. Since only starting last year, ALiVE have put out some great tracks and have already gained support from the likes of Carl Cox (see May issue of Mixmag when Tom’s track “Kinda Um” featured on Carl Cox’s mix), John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Jimpster and Danny Howells.
