Monoblock was formed in 2004 by Martin TC and Guikle, after relocating from their native Uruguay to Valencia, Spain. Combining diverse genre signifiers over a rich techno landscape, the Monoblock sound demonstrates a keen sense of rhythm and groove rarely seen in such young artists. Having conquered many of the most important clubs in Valencia, they quickly began receiving performance invitations from some of Europe’s most respected venues, Fuse(Brussels) , Berlin’s Watergate, Monza club in Ibiza among others After 2008 summer they went on tour around North America, Central America And South America, spreading their music beyond frontiers. Their productions and remixes have been released by such labels as Cynosure, Freak n Chic, Archipel, Immigrant and Minuendo, they have managed to get into the record bags of minimal tastemakers from Richie Hawtin and the M_nus crew to Marco Carola, even Josh Wink, and charted by many of the industry’s most respected djs. The constant exploration of new sounds and styles is the mark of this duo, as an effort to keep the music fresh, and vivid, without forgetting the dancefloor.
