Line-up /Ali Macdonald (The Minimalists)
Phillipos N ( Freshit, Rescue Records)
Alain DeLondon (Weird Science)
Weird Science is back at Roadtrip with a great and diverse line up and it's free as always.
Notoriously hard to please music critic, collector, DJ, promoter and deep purveyor of all that is deep; Ali has promoted nights and played at many of London's most respected bars and clubs.
He has always stayed true to the music he believes in and has never been one to compromise what he plays, be it deep house, nu-jazz, detroit techno or rare-groove soul. He says: "Music for the loud minority. Not for the masses!
Expect a groovy vinyl set, from Detroit house to Berlin cool or Philly soul and plenty of unreleased promos.
Philippos misspent his early years on the party circuit of his beloved Greece, becoming known for smart DJing and his own warehouse raves, "Delirium".
Now based primarily in London, Philippos' work in such recording studios as Swag and Junction 13 has led to production and collaborations for recording labels such as Sensei, Essential Beat and Rescue. His successful debut release under the guise of DAP was the most played record by Richie Hawtin in the Summer of '04.
Philippos spins his all-groove eclectic blend at club nights Film Noir, HBDS and SB White and is preparing for the launch of his own imprint "Freshit Records" later this year-
Weird Science resident Alain DeLondon will be playing a freestyle set consisting of deep house/techno, obscure remixes and hi nrg Italo Disco numbers.
