The people behind the MoMA MiXX party, the first in a series of events that pairs major artists with world-renowned musicians and DJs, have put together a stellar combination for their kick-off shindig.
Painter Mickalene Thomas and mixed-media artist Derrick Adams share spinning duties with DJ Andy Butler, the architect behind disco/house revivalists Hercules & Love Affair. To accommodate this epic dance party, MoMA's lobby is transformed into a giant dance floor, and its atrium becomes a cocktail lounge housing the event's open bar.
Fellow house and techno-heads Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin are along for the ride, as well, filling out the four straight hours of dancing with sets of their own
