Off The Beat is back again this weekend and we're finally settling into a nice groove mixing up the finest in party tunes, funk, disco, beats and all sorts of cool music.
Set in the cozy confines of Melt, the artwork, mismatched furnishings and records plastered to the ceiling create a unique vibe that is like no other in Sydney and let's not forget the DJs who help create this vibe!
Kicking off the festivities is DJ SayWhut?! who loves to mix up a potent concoction of party hip hop, classic disco, and funk warming things up nicely for the duo of Tom Yum and King Lee who turn up the heat with their mash up of hip hop, 80s funk, bmore, electro disco and cheeky as bootlegs. On main set duties comes the always reliable king of beats and disco, Frenzie. Always hard to predict what comes out of a DJ Frenzie set as he likes to keep a few surprises up his sleeve which sets the tone nicely for Simon Caldwell who isn't afraid to bring a few classic vinyl pieces as he throws down some rare disco edits to end the night.
Melt: 12 Kellett St, Kings Cross.
$18 cocktail jugs, $6 beers, $6 OFF THE BEAT shots
Get sidetracked and just plain silly. Come for the banter but more importantly for the boogie!!
