On Friday October 10, 2009 VOLATL tm and Klectik Recordings will preview some of the innovative and versatile artists that will be represented of the Klectik 007 digital and vinyl release. The Sonotheque show will represent the Chicago debut of Argentina’s Dilo, the return of New York mainstay Connie, and Klectik label boss Jason Patrick.
Argentina’s Dilo has made a name for himself as a solo artist, and alongside his label partner and frequent collaborator, Gurtz. From his beginnings, “high among a forest of sky-scrapers” in Buenos Aries, Dilo, real name, Franco di Lorenzo, has diligently worked on music. He has seen releases on Einmaieins, Unfoundsound, Telegraph, and more. His own imp, Igloo, has given him a platform to launch the careers of many of the new wave of Argentinian producers that have been sweeping the electronic music scene over the past years. Dilo has performed the world wide, but this will be his first Chicago appearance. Dilo will have one original track on the Klectik 007 EP.
Also performing is Connie, one of the rising stars of the New York techno scene. From her performances at Miami’s Sunday School for Degenerates, to San Francisco’s LoveFest, to her residency with New York promotion agency ReSolute, and beyond - the upward momentum of her dj career is evident. Connie recently saw her debut EP release on AirDrop, with her “Sunset Tribe” EP. She also has remixed for Restart and Stone and will remix the Klectik 007 EP, featuring Dilo and Gurtz.
Jason Patrick is to Chicago, what Connie is to New York. His recent appearances at Varsity All-Stars in Chicago, Bionic in San Francsico and ReSoute Dertoit have earned him a nationwide reputation for seamless mixing and tight, well - mastered production. His Klectik 005 project, “Octollo,” which features a remix by Elon, has received the support of some of the world’s best dj’s and has found him quite busy with new remix projects, as well as directing new projects for Klectik, his brainchild.
Hoping to expose audiences to the depth of the artistry in techno, minimal and house, VOLATL’s Sonotheque events have featured a wide variety of amazing guest headliners including Osborne (Spectral residency), Bruno Pronsato, Exercise One, Elon, and Sonja Moonear, among others. VOLATL has produced dozens of memorable techno events in Chicago, Detroit, New York, and Miami with a forward-thinking approach to bookings and cutting edge sound systems. In May of 2009, VOLATL enjoyed tremendous success following its highly-acclaimed Movement after-party in Detroit, The Other 9 to 5, which featured an amazing lineup of performers from the Clink and Hello?Repeat labels alongside its resident DJs. Most recently, VOLATL hosted Game On, an underground event featuring Pheek, Stefny, and other world renowned DJs.
