Relishing in the abolition of musical boundaries, Rhythmcentric has been known to mix its trademark house with techno, breakbeat, funk, soul and disco; the new with the old in an extravagant display of sound inspired by dance floors across the world.
At just 16 years old, residents Thuz & Miss AJ harboured a shared passion for all things funk, boomp and bleep. They honed their skills at Liverpool’s legendary Masque venue first individually, and later in the slick back-2-back sets that became for many a school-night stress reliever of the highest order during 2004.
Mr McCarthy completed the residents’ line-up, bringing to the (turn) table anything from heavy techno and nu-skool breaks, through to classic soul and hip-hop. Only one thing remained a constant; a healthy craving for funk, sweet rhythms and infectious bass-lines.
Collaborating with the likes of Bubblegum, Slut and Electrofunk – Rhythmcentric specialised in week-night madness, causing mass Friday-morning-sickie-pulling across the North West.
DJ Alena, Yousef, Jane Fitz, Iain Taylor, Loz and the Homegrown DJs were amongst those who opted in for the Rhythmcentric treatment during round one… and after nearly 18 months away, we’re pleased to finally announce the RHYTHMCENTRIC RE-UNION – and who’s in for round two…
Ding Ding!
