This month [ Ctrl ] is welcoming a double bill of techno loveliness.......
Reset Robot is a relatively new name that will be increasingly familiar to fans of dubbed-out and moody tech house all over the world. Having released a series of well-received tracks on key labels including Excentric Muzik, 8 Sided Dice, Sound Of Acapulco and Noir already in 2009, Reset Robot recently made a debut on Dubfire’s Sci+Tec Digital Audio imprint to crown what has been an amazing start his career. There is more to come too with a follow up EP on Sci+Tec, releases to come on 100% Pure, Tronic, Sprout and Suara and the launch of Reset Robot’s label, Roomba Music.
Never one to miss an opportunity to embrace fresh talent, Dubfire boldly signed a staggering five tracks to his Sci+Tec label including the awesome Pig Nose, which leads the first of two EP’s to be released on the tastemaker label in 2009. Elsewhere leading techno labels Excentric Muzik (Softie) and 8 Sided Dice (Continue) both made sure they were in from the start and were justifiably rewarded with several weeks in the upper reaches of Beatport’s techno chart while upfront cuts appear on compilations from Global Underground (Nic Fanciulli) and Cocoon (Dubfire).
This month we also welcome BIGGER THAN JESUS AKA Nick Adams and Pete Robinson. Newcastle’s finest have made some serious waves in recent month’s flying high in Beatport charts and travelling far and wide to play the worlds coolest and most underground parties. Recently the lads have played alongside other techno greats such as Adam Beyer, Stephan Bodzin, Slam, Phil Kieran, Lutzenkirchen, Shonky, Luca Bacchetti, Paul Woolford, Fergie, Audiojack, Thomas Schumacher, Clive Henry, Switch, Perc, Lucio Aquilina and many more. They’ve also had some of their biggest releases to date on Fergie’s critically acclaimed ‘Excentric’ label (Carl Cox’s label of the year 2008) and also uber Italian label 'Italo Business'.
Their unique music has received support from an array of International DJ's such as Carl Cox, Dubfire, Stephan Bodzin, Phil Kieran, Fergie, Audiojack, DJ Hell, Boysnoise, James Zabiela, Luca Bachhetti, Johannes Heil, Axel Bartsch, James Zabiela, Meat Katie, Stephan Bodzin, Annie Nightingale, Mistress De Funk (Radio 1), Mike Monday, Funk D'Void and Tom Pooks, to name but a small few.
With Support from [ Ctrl ] residents Damien Walker and Prim.
