Yo, Massive thanks to all who came down and got on it at our October party. Big props to Lee Curtiss and all the other Djs who all proper smashed it. It was without a doubt one of the sickest nights we have done, absolutely wicked!!

Onwards and upwards, we will be back at The Russian on Friday November 13th with another killer line up, spinning House/techno across 2 floors..

PABLO CAHN-SPEYER (Cadenza/Like That)

Born and raised in Colombia, Pablo Cahn-Speyer a.k.a Pol Cahn is a DJ and producer currently based in London. Being brought up in a family of both Colombian and Austrian descent, Pablo showed a keen interest in all things musical from an early age and as expected from a musical kid during the mid 90’s naturally ended up playing lead guitar in a grunge band. His first contact with electronic music came during a trip to the UK where a friend passed him Jeff Mills – Live at the Liquid Room –Tokyo on CD, which lead to an immediate obsession that would forever change the course of his life. Once back in Colombia, Pablo turned away the Salsa and Merengue dancehalls in favor of the underground Techno & House parties of the then thriving local scene becoming in the process one of the youngest ravers in town. Soon after, he sold his Jackson Dinky to buy a pair of 1200s never to touch a guitar again. After a few months collecting records and learning the art of mixing, Pablo had his first club gig at the young age of 16 and soon after started performing in major clubs and parties in his native Bogota as well as other major Colombian cities like Medellin and Cartagena. Driven by a strong passion for the music and frustrated by the minimum amount of records that made it to the other side of the Atlantic as well as a local scene that had seen its day, he later moved to London where he's been polishing his Djing and production skills and is currently an active member of the local scene as a DJ, promoter and party animal. Having built a reputation for always rocking a crowd, his Dj sets are known for their versatility and dynamism ranging from dub-infected (tech) house and minimal grooves all the way up to 'party' techno, constantly keeping a distinct groove and flow somehow resemblant to his Latin roots. He's played alongside numerous established international artists, has been invited to perform in Electronic Music hot-spots such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Poland and Ireland and currently holds residencies at LikeThat - the underground warehouse parties that are taking London by storm – and at the infamous Tbar. On the production front, Pablo combines his numerous musical influences to construct varied original pieces that lie somewhere within the realms of House and Techno.
July 2009 saw Pablo’s debut E.P released on respected label Cadenza Records, a collaboration with long time partner in crime Cesar Merveille that has caused serious damage in dance floors worldwide. Pablo is definitely one to watch so stayed tuned for future appearances and productions......
