OCD continues to bring the best live electronic bands and underground record labels to the finest live club venue in London, the Rhythm Factory. After the last sell out event featuring The Bays – Live back in March, Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Soundsystem will be taking the stage from the ever-consistent UK label 2020 Vision for a 3 hour session.

In three short years 2020Soundsystem have became one of the best live bands within an ever increasing new wave of acts mixing up electronic music with indie, punk and p-funk. If you really have to find a name for it you can call it e-funk: a growing scene of heads happy to party with the best of them at a gig, bar or disco. They have established themselves firmly in the festival circuit as well as building up their reputation through the world of underground clubs and dirty discos. By weaving live instruments into Lawson’s DJ set, they have transformed the clubbing experience into something new by giving punters the best of both worlds: the continuity and diversity of a DJ mix with the raw energy and excitement of seeing a live band. Their debut album ‘No Order’ will be released on 24 April as a double CD, featuring an artist album and a live recording taken from their set in June 2005 at the hottest music festival on the planet: Sonar in Barcelona.

iO music take over Room 2 with label bosses and OCD residents insignificant Others djing with the much talked about Ableton Live. The first release – King Roc’s ‘Better Ways/Locamota’ – was released in Jan 2006 to glowing reviews and critical acclaim and with release No.2 also gaining great support, things are looking good for iO Music.

They will be joined by special guest Big Daddy, resident and promoter of dirty jackin house night, Playtime. Big Daddy also runs, alongside Mike Monday, the Playtime Record label with its first track “What day is it?” getting props from DJs as varied as Steve Bug to Mylo, Ewan Pearson to Groove Armada. Also in Room 2, Mixmag’s features editor, Gavin Herlihy whose debut single is to be released shortly on Germany’s Moodmusic label.
