Running since early 2006, TECHnique has become the home of quality free underground techno in Sydney. Not locked into one style, TECHnique continues to showcase talent from across the entire spectrum of techno-fuelled electronica. Together with Jandal, presenting a night of extravagance from the freshest producers, live acts and DJs across both Australia and Aotearoa.

An evening of lush chords, percussive funk and bassline tectonics in the renowned and intimate confines of Sydney's Civic Underground.

SIMON FLOWER – Poker Flat/Moon Harbour (Live)

Proving that a little isolation can go a long way… residing in the far-flung islands of New Zealand has done nothing to hinder Flower scoring a stream of releases, collaborations and remixes on prestigious labels like Poker Flat, Moon Harbour, Dessous, Compost Black, Highgrade, and Curl Curl. His music scores highly with critics, punters and DJs alike and is frequently played by the likes of Steve Bug, Josh Wink and Anja Schneider to name a few. Since the early 90’s Simon has been busy producing, promoting parties, running his own successful record label 'Nurture' and tastefully blurring the lines of art, extended partying and exquisite music composition to perfection.

Fresh from an abundance of memorable performances all over Europe and at legendary clubs like the Liquid Room in Tokyo, Fabric London and most recently Watergate, Berlin for the Poker Flat Ten Year Anniversary - Flower performs in Sydney exclusively live at the Civic Underground.

Simon Caldwell

The evening’s main support comes from one of Sydney’s most talented and versatile DJ’s. Throughout the 12 years he’s been playing records to beer drinkers, bum shakers and radio listeners alike, Caldwell has championed a wealth of musical genres and respective timeslots by keeping himself free to draw on his varied loves of deep, soulful house, techno, funk, jazz, electro, booty, hip hop and anything else which catches his ear. From his legendary sets as resident of Mad Racket, Sydney to five-hour epics at Melbourne's Honky Tonks and successful appearances throughout Europe, Caldwell consistently displays why he is truly one of Australia’s top-shelf DJ’s and more than capable of crafting a perfect warm-up set.

Matt Drake (NZ)

Groundbreaking, body-rocking cuts spliced, melted and served in a seamless sonic sauce has made Drake one of New Zealand's most innovative dance-floor talents. A staple support act for house & tech DJs who has played alongside: Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, Audion, Michael Mayer, Booka Shade, Steve Bug, Claude VonStroke, Claude Young, Stacey Pullen, Deetron, Ben Sims, Adam Beyer, Christian Smith, Cari Lekebusch, Mike Grant, Dirt Crew, DJ T, Stimming, Tom Clarke, M.A.N.D.Y, Ame and HEAPS more. Pity the fool that misses one of the Drake’s infamous sets of machine-funk and sexy, jacking minimalisim – the same sets that have been putting the worlds best to shame for 17 years!

Kane Bligh

A Sydney residing Kiwi with one foot in Brazil and the promoter behind Musica - a Sydney benchmark for quality clubbing with past guests including Timo Mass & Lee Burridge and a series of consummate events set to return in 2010. A stalwart of both the Sydney and São Paulo scenes, Kane will be cheekily keeping things rolling, keeping it liquid and locked deep until close.
