This Saturday 8th April will see the 4th installment in Volume’s Superhero Series, with DJ Tahl mashing up the main room as you’ve never seen him before; we bring you The Beatman...
Born on the distant Planet Punk, Tahl was packed up by his regal Punk Parents and sent to Earth in a flaming skull capsule when he was just ten years of age. By the time he finally crashed in the middle of Volume City’s industrial wasteland, Tahl’s genetic makeup underwent massive transformations and he was no longer a boy. Emerging from the smoldering wreck of his capsule, Tahl now possessed the ability to recognize and match and human beat, and his hands were able to move faster than the speed of light.
His hearing had reached maximum supersonic levels- not only could he match beats, he could pick the dirtiest, trashiest tunes months before any human alive. Assuming the vigilante identity of Beatman, Tahl set about righting the musical wrongs of Volume City and vowed to devote his life to rescuing citizens night after night from the evil grip of cheesy DJ’s and second-rate commercial music. With a bold, fresh sound, riddled with punk stabs and trashy electro churns, Beatman soon became one of the thriving downtown’s favourite and most respected superheroes.
The Beatman, AKA the notorious DJ Tahl, will be joined in the main room also by Melbourne’s finest, the Volume residents, Andrew Padula, Mark James, Harley Augustine & Dee Dee.
Not to mention a special visit, direct from the infamously rocking back streets of New York City, an original Ghetto Punk Posse, and the club as you’ve never seen it before!
