2009 saw the launch of the Double Whammy - this was a way of us cutting the numbers over each weekend ensuring that family feeling stayed with us at The Garden.....
Judging by the overwhelmingly positive feedback we received from both guests and artists, extending the event this way was an unqualified sucess.
Most festival goers stayed for at least 7-10 days, which gave everyone even more chance to relax in the beautiful surroundings and to forge lasting friendships which we know will continue to develop into the future.
Both weekends were fully formed festivals with 2000 people each weekend having the time of their lives.
Fabulous live sets from acts new to The Garden such as Jose James, Hot 8 Brass Band and Little Dragon plus Garden festival favorites ,The Soil and Pimp Sessions, were just a few of the top quality artists who helped to maintain the musical standard set in previous years.
The midweek period was an opportunity for revellers to visit the nearby islands and waterfalls or the historical old town of Zadar, and pop into The Garden - the lounge bar that started all of this off in 2004.
Rollocking extra boat parties and club nights were layed on, with the likes of Maurice Fulton, Gilles Peterson and Trojan Sound System providing the musical treats. Or simply just chilling by the sea, sipping cocktails and greeting the constant stream of new partygoers and old friends arriving daily, to the sound of The Garden residents Bobby Beige, Domu, Ole Smokey and Joe 90 at the Tikki Bar beach terrace.
The most common reaction we had was that 'Its not just a festival, its a fantastic holiday with an incredible soundtrack' which we think sums it up perfectly.
