Resident DJs: Eddie Krilov & Vadim
KYU's love for music started at an early age of 8. He was classically trained in piano and violin for over 10 years. Always looking to expand his musically knowledge, he discovered EDM (Electronic Dance Music) in 1998. He started out by seeing live performances of djs such as PVD, Steve Lawler, Sasha and Digweed, Lee Burridge, Danny Howells and Richie Hawtin. Inspired by the musicality of all these djs and feeling he could add a unique aspect to EDM, he entered the world of deejaying. In 1999, he started his dj career playing at Recess in NYC. In 2004, he started a weekly party called, "Ignite", to highlight nyc local talent, where he played along side local djs such as Bill Patrick, Dennis Rodgers, Camea, Elon and DJ Sense, who have since then become world-class djs.
Because of his efforts of helping out the local dj scene and his skills as a dj, he had the honor to play in many of the hottest clubs in nyc, such as Pacha, Roxy, Sullivan Room and Le Souk. Also, he has played at parties with world-class djs such as Josh Wink, Justin Martin, Timo Mass, Little Mike and Steve Porter.
Kyu's sound can be described in a quote by him, "My sound is an evolution of self-introspection", meaning his style evolves as his understanding of music evolves. Currently, his sound can be described as minimal-house-funk-techno, but this may change at any time. He is constantly listening to music and trying to broaden his knowledge of EDM.
"Music is a journey", he says and he hopes it never ends.
