MEANRED & GOOD PEOPLES PRESENT
FLASHING LIGHTS w/ Todd Edwards & Kingdom
Come to Chinatown... we'll be in minimall-turned-rave-den full of bass, chops, dubs, and bleeps!
:: Built By MeanRed
FLASHING LIGHTS is the neon brainchild of some of the city's most beloved selectors: DJ AYRES (responsible for 7+ sweaty years of The Rub parties at Southpaw), NICK CATCHDUBS (remix/mixtape phenom and co-founder of the hit indie label Fool's Gold) and JUBILEE (BK bass sweetheart behind her own Nightshifters imprint). Over the past year, these three constantly-touring DJs have worked tirelessly to launch a genuinely fun and unpretentious electronic dance party in their own hometown. HOUSE+DISCO+TECHNO+RAVE as the block-letter flyers plainly state: no hype, just tuuunes!
The FL trio have branded their party as a true destination, thanks to exciting and unpredictable sets blending brand new music and revitalized dance classics. With guest sets from big name friends (A-Trak, Klever, Drop The Lime), local heroes (DJ Dara, Egg Foo Young) and breaking talent (La Roux, Toddla T, Nadastrom), each edition brings new musical delights. By teaming up with party promoters Mean Red and Good Peoples, the team has been able to keep the crowd bumping in giant clubs, underground lounges and hijacked dim sum restaurants alike. As the New Yorker says, "recent Flashing Lights parties have been high-spirited, low-attitude events that recall the mood of New York City dance clubs from the early eighties, like Danceteria. Remember: the event is actually for dancers, rather than for people who need to text each other in public."
The latest Flashing Lights goes down once again at 88 Palace in NYC on Friday, December 4th with the inspired team-up of rising new DJ/producer KINGDOM ("New York City’s secret club weapon" - Dazed & Confused) and house/2-step legend TODD EDWARDS, a man responsible for countless dance classics and the voice behind Daft Punk's "Face To Face." Todd's remix of Kingdom's debut Fool's Gold single "Mind Reader" has become one of the most anticipated tunes of the year, and the whole FL crew is beyond exited to bring these two singular talents together first. Don't miss it!
