William Holland is a musician, DJ and record producer from the UK. He is now based in Cali Columbia.
He records under various guises, notably,Quantic, The Quantic Soul Orchestra, and The Limp Twins. His music draws upon elements of Salsa, Bossa Nova, Soul, Funk and Jazz. Holland plays guitar, bass, piano, organ, saxophone and percussion. Much of his sound is original composition with little in the way of sampling of other artists' material.

When asked to describe what type of music he produces, Holland said:

"You're asking the wrong person really, but some stuff is hip-hop-orientated, some stuff is at house tempo, but not necessarily 'house' music, some of it has a strong Latin influence, some of it has a strong African influence, and some of it is just a mix-up of loads of styles."

Holland also has his own label Magnetic Fields on which he releases heavy soul and funk. He has also taken on remix duties for over 30 songs.

Quantic has sold in excess of 100,000 records in his various guises, including solo projects and with his acclaimed live funk band, the Quantic Soul Orchestra. As well as countless features and glowing reviews in publications ranging from DJ Mag to the Guardian, his track ‘Mi Swing Es Tropical’ with Nickodemus featured in the worldwide iPod advert throughout 2007, bringing him further into the spotlight. In 2007 Holland moved to Cali, Colombia’s third largest city, to pursue his passion for unearthing lost treasures from Colombia’s musical past and making new music with the golden array of talent available today. Upon realising the potency and sheer quality present in these players – some of whom contributed to the acclaimed QSO album, ‘Tropidelico’ – Holland assembled his Combo Bárbaro (literally translating as ‘group of barbarians or people from outside Europe’) to take up the baton from the Quantic Soul Orchestra in the next phase of his musical vision.

Quantic will join Mighty Highness Sound System on Friday 15th. January 2010!

Along side DJ's Paprika and Barkin'Soul.
