Halcyon the Shop and NYEX are back for the weekly Thursday night party at Stay on Houston St. and Ave. A. This is Halcyon's first party of 2010 and we are psyched to bring you two of NYC's favorite djs, Reade Truth and DJ Connie!

With recent highly acclaimed releases "Soundwav" on his new NYC imprint, White Label and the "Crimen Excepta EP" on Carl Craig's famous imprint Planet E Communications, Reade Truth has revealed what he has been perfecting in his vienna based studio. Its a fantastic hybrid of deep groovy electronic rhythms and moody detroit-eque vibes from and for the underground. Reade Truth is best identified as a veteran DJ of the NY and Brooklyn scenes whose deep dance floor visions have consistently provided an important source of edgy electronics- always delivered with an inimitable style all his own. He has been rocking the decks since 1990 and as a producer he has made his mark on many EPs for cutting edge labels like Direct Drive, Strictly Rhythm, Sonic Groove, Instinct, Pomelo and Path Records. No history of the electronic music scene would be truly complete without mentioning the name reade truth, one that evokes both futuristic anticipation and nostalgic reflection. We can expect even more work from Reade in the coming month, with scheduled releases arriving in November on White Label and Wurst Music.

Born and raised in Queens, New York City, Connie appeared in the electronic music scene six years ago and has become a familiar face in the NYC underground house/techno scenes. Connie has spun her eclectic mix of funky house, tech house, electro, acid, minimal and techno all over the world and alongside the most talented DJs/producers, like Trentemoller, James Holden, Italoboyz, Vincenzo, Michal Ho, Nico Purman, Guy Gerber, Davide Squillace, Alka_rex, Mark Henning, Sweet & Candy, Jeff Bennett, Konrad Black, Terry Mullan, Jesse Rose, Adultnapper, Nick Warren, Misstress Barbara, Patrick Chardronnet, Jay Tripwire, Jason Jinx, Chris Duckenfield (SWAG), Ladytron, Jimmy van M, Camea, and the Hacker. Connie spins regularly at NYC's top venues like Crobar, Pacha, Sullivan Room, Love & Cielo, but also DJs at more underground but high-profiled events and parties, eg. Minimoo, LESS @ Annex, and ReSolute, for which she is a resident of.

In addition, Connie just returned on Friday from playing the ReSolute party at BPM festival in Mexico.
