DZ (BADMAN PRESS / BLACKACRE /HOTFLUSH- SF)
The North American bass dub slinger DZ is no stranger to dance floors worldwide with his tunes being played by the likes of Rusko, Diplo, Herve, the Crookers, MRK1, Hank Shocklee and Starkey, and with all the blog releases and freebies as of late probably hundreds of up and coming dj’s around the globe. Definitely among the most influential and widely recognized dubstep artists in North America, DZ has made his name with an almost robot-like consistency of quality productions and releases on a variety of labels internationally, as well as higher profile remixes for the likes of Jokers of the Scene, The Crookers , Wu-tang Clan, Major Lazer and Gucci Mane. With the release of his first full length LP “The Proliferation Sequence”, a massive 26 tune offering split into two parts (Jan 5/19, 2010 on Badman Digital), DZ is about to strengthen the claim that he just may be the most prolific dubstep artist in North America yet.
KOZEE (REDLINE / STATESIDE DUBSTEP / BADMAN PPESS)
(pronounced cozy) was born in Lansing, Michigan and started her love affair with music early. At the age of 7, she compiled her first mixtape, inadvertently on the path towards creating her own music one day. Her family would relocate to Sacramento, California, and in the early 90’s she started collecting vinyl and building hip hop mixtapes (through those she landed an opening slot for DJ Maseo of De La Soul fame). Now, having performed back to back with Silkie, MRK1, and more while touring the UK and Europe - she continues to share the stage and draw inspiration from many other prominent North American dubstep producers including members of San Francisco thriving Dubstep community. With a current release on Badman Press and a forthcoming E.P in February on Badman Digital, she shook up the dubstep world and gained serious attention from artists like Starkey, Crookers, Rusko & more!
SAM SUPA (SUREFIRE / BRAP DEM!)
Sam Supa is a local pusher of Bass music. Supa draws his influences from Dub, Lovers Rock, Hip-Hop, Metal and Jungle. He flexes on the decks dropping big tunes with classics in a dynamic mixing style.
In March 2007 he took an influential trip to DMZ and had a guest spot with N-Type in the UK on Rinse FM and did it again in 2008 and to this day is one of the few Americans to play Rinse. He has played alongside many respected and pioneering DJs such as Hatcha, Youngsta, N-Type, Juju, Skream, Kode 9, Joe Nice, Mala, Caspa, Headhunter, Plastician, and local legends such as Djunya, DJG and many more. He is a current resident at San Francisco's longest running Grime and Dubstep night GRIME CITY and co-founder of SUREFIRE and runs a new record label Brap Dem! Recordings.
