We are at it again, continuing to bring some of the hottest international and local talent in the electronic music scene to Broadway 202!
Heading down under from the UK on March 5, are two of the most respected and well known producers and DJ’s (acts) in the breakbeat scene, Deekline and Ctrl Z.
Known for his ‘booty breaks’ sound, Deekline is the founder of massive breaks labels such as Rat Records, Hardcore Beats, Hot Cakes and Booty Breaks. His unique sound and in-demand styling’s continue to be a reference for producers alike around the world, both new and old in the music industry.
As well as his the widely known collaboration with partner Wizard (Deekline & Wizard), Deekline has worked with many heavyweight producers such as Tim Healey, Ed Solo, DJ Assault, DJ Fresh, Stanton Warriors, Freestylers and Fort Knox Five. With tracks remixed from the likes of NAPT and MJ Cole, Deekline has returned the favour with some huge remixes such as the Armand Van Helden “My My My” (Deekline & Wizard), The Prodigy’s “Outta Space”, and Freestylers “Boom Blast”.
Continuing on in 2009 with the sexy remix for Shystie “New Style”, and booty shaking Yo Majesty remix “Don’t Let Go”, Deekline continues to deliver the music that gets the ladies shaking.... that get the rest of the club moving!
More? Of course!
Dash (aka Tom Petais) will be representing the duo Ctrl Z that smashed into the breaks scene with 2 nominations for Best Breakthrough Act and Best Breakthrough Producer at the 2005 Breakspoll awards. Respected and considered as one of the acts that pioneered a sound embraced as a raw and harder-edged breaks, you can't help but rip up the dancefloor!
Gaining attention from labels such as Against the Grain, Lot 49, Botchit & Scarper, Rat Records and Hardcore Beats, in 2009, Ctrl Z started their own label “Never Say Die Records” to showcase the increasing popularity of a sound regarded as truly being in a class of it’s own. Having collaborated with artists such as Freestylers, Tayo and Autobots, Ctrl Z were also honoured in having Freq Nasty commission no less than three tracks for his Breakspoll compilation CD. To add to this impressive list of achievements, Ctrl Z are also one half of Stereo:type who have gained huge recognition playing absolutely massive 5 deck sets that will blow your mind!
Playing a DJ set that will not only energise and inspire music lovers, but will satisfy the curiosity of those unfamiliar.... this is one not to be missed!!!
