ABOUT THE BENEFIT, A GATHERING OF TALENTS & TRIBES:
We've gathered our party troupe's 'for the love of haiti' in a benefit event to support Housing Works & PHAP+ a coalition of Haiti based AIDS organizations. Housing Works has a long standing support network in working with PHAP+, and in the aftermath of the tragic earthquake of January 2010, they've already brought to Haiti over $40K of direct relief that includes necessities from food & shelter too medical support and a piece of mind. We love that they are completely transparent in where all the monies are going, and donators can rest assure their support is going directly to the front lines by reading the daily blogs from their staff on the ground in Haiti.

Please support by coming together for this amazing collaboration of musical tribes. Many are not only emotionally charged with their own personal stories of loss in the aftermath of the earthquake, but all with a need to share their talents in a communal ceremony of dancing and rhythms, that includes you, in doing what we can collectively to support both physically and spiritually the ON GOING relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti.

HOUSING WORKS in the relief/rebuild efforts in Haiti:
Here in New York City, Housing Works has numerous Haitian staff and serves many Haitian immigrants and descendents annually. Our dedication to our own Haitian community led us in 2008 to begin close partnerships with Haiti-based AIDS organizations. Since that time, we have worked with PHAP+, a coalition of Haiti-based AIDS groups led by people living with HIV/AIDS, to expand the availability of comprehensive AIDS services in Haiti.

Our strong network of connections to Haitian AIDS service providers means that we are ideally suited to help rebuild Haiti’s AIDS services with all due haste. We recognize the urgency of emergency care and relief, but we also know that we must start planning for the long-term in order to stem the tide of AIDS in Haiti.
