The stories of the Formula launch party are failing to flounder from the mouths of those that attended the sensational Launch party that took place at The Den last month. The intention to bring back the house party feeling with an energising and uplifting music policy was an unreserved success.
As the monumental loss of the Key still lives on in many, the deep set atmosphere and uplifting spirit that the parties held is still to be unturned. Until last month, when Formula was re-born and returned setting out to do exactly what it was born to do it presented a major come-back. And what a come-back it was!
With a queue of clubbers that wrapped itself around the club thick and full from 11pm – 1.30am, all waiting eagerly to join the blinding atmosphere that had been set early on in the night. With the aim to get deep-tech and the more uplifting side of house to intermingle, Formula created two rooms, and delivered, as promised, the mixture in sound but one delectable environment. By 11pm the intended ambience that reverberated from the hands in the air crowd was infectious to anyone that entered. It was pretty overwhelming and something many people have felt has been missing from recent years in Clubland.
After the press release written from the heart by Formula promoter, Paul Roche, where he expressed a feeling of lostness and uninspirational music and general feeling of recent times, the response was immense. Messages flooded his inbox with heartfelt messages of agreement and approval of the aim to bring the atmosphere back. The music has reached a point again where Formula can continue to set up parties like the 500 it did over 5 years.
To add even more flair, Formula flew over Spiderman from Bora Bora who took to his (unfortunately) tight 10 year old Spiderman outfit and added a bit of crazinesss and quirk to the party. Spiderman was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, and was definitely the perfect mascot for the evening.
It’s a rare thing to have a party talked about with such conviction by so many at such an early stage of its ‘new’ life, but the buzz before, during and after was immense. The team are determined to improve the party every time to make it an enjoyable experience for all of its followers, both new and old so that we can all continue to rivet in what we’ve missed, what we love and of course be part of the Formula.
The DJ’s to come at the next party are Rozzo from the Mountain Poeple, Tech House genius Anthea, hailed by DJ Mag as the ‘Godfather of House’ is JB and of course the Formula residents, Leroy Roberts, Richie la rue, Si Barber, Adam Patton, Eline De Boer and Jack Michaels. All of whom are first and foremost friends of the Formula Team but most importantly understand what Formula is all about: No down turns in Tempo, No flat tunes, Just uplifting House Music all night long. (And of course, a killer Vibe to go with it ;)
