Despite still being in their nascent stages, London-based moscow records have made a big impression so far in 2010. Founded in December 2009, the imprint provides a platform for the best-sourced international talent to flourish, releasing music on exclusive limited-edition vinyl and in the digital realm. Their first release - 'Intorductions EP, Part 1...' - drew praise from some of the most respected luminaries on the house and techno circuit with the vinyl release, despite featuring three freshman producers, next to selling-out in its first week on sale.
On March 6th, to celebrate our second release on limited-edition vinyl, moscow records invites you to join us at the T-Bar for a bespoke gathering of friends and family in one of London's most famous and revered spaces, complete with one of the finest sound-systems in Europe.
Joining us on the night will be GummiHz (mobilee - Berlin). One of our favourite DJ's, Alex (GummiHz) has provided two incredible remixes for MOSCOW002 that will have dance floor's shaking across the globe this season. Having lived in London for 10 years prior to moving to Berlin, Alex will be a familiar and much loved face to many of you, and we are sure you will be as pleased as us to welcome back for his first gig in London in over a year. A phenomenal talent both in the studio and behind the decks, Alex will be leading us through the peak-time hours with his own indelible style. Also topping the bill is one of the most exciting breakthrough talents of 2009 - John Roberts. The first non-German to be welcomed onto the flawless Dial imprint in Hamburg, John created big waves last year with a string of pitch perfect singles both on Dial and Laid that drew sumptuous praise from not only his more established peers but also the media, with Resident Advisor running a 'Breaking Through' feature on him in November of last year. His live-sets are truly special and not to be missed. We are delighted to welcome John to London for the evening.
In support will be moscow artists Keinton, Archie Hamilton & Alexqbit; along with some new emerging talents set to feature on the label in the coming months in Strutt, Rollo Di Massi, & Manu. We are also delighted to welcome our good friend Richard Adam: resident DJ and promoter for Simmer. This party has generated some serious buzz this past year - bringing names such as Lee Foss, Tony Lionni, Shonky and Geddes down to rock parties all around east London. Central to their success has been Richard Adam - dropping slick tech house grooves to get the party started and finished in style.
Completing the bill will be a live VJ performance from our dear friends and co-collaborators Magic Lantern. Magic Lantern are a VJ/AV collective based in Leeds and have been ‘stimulating minds through eyes’ since 2005. They have very quickly gained a reputation as one of the finest performers in their field and have worked at some incredible events and club nights all over the UK and beyond! Magic Lantern blend self-created content with sampled material from a myriad of different sources live to create seamless elaborate organic visualisations that will suit almost any style of music or event. They have crafted, and now bring into play, their own stunning custom made series of octagonal screens to optimize that full Magic Lantern effect, we look forward to seeing what they will create in the T-Bar!
