Next Friday, April 9th, 330 Ritch, Uprock Recordings, and Lotus Live are pleased to present the SF debut of Jazz Re:freshed with special guests Silhouette Brown (Dego/4Hero & Lady Alma) along with resident Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic)!

The brainchild of Uprock's JUSTIN 'TOPROCK' MCKENZIE & ADAM 'ROCK' MOSES, Jazz Re:Freshed is a music movement started with a humble vision early one summer. Its intention, to challenge the elitism and prejudice within the jazz community that had kept jazz on the sidelines far too long, whilst bringing the incredibly diverse, colourful, expressive and creative world that is jazz, to the people - live, fun and affordable - whist promoting underexposed music and artists deserving of the widest recognition. The movement was built around its weekly residency in the heart of West London, covering the whole spectrum of jazz and jazz influenced music - from dance oriented jazz to the various interpretations: jazz fusion to broken beated jazz, be bop to hip hop, avant garde to Latin jazz, Afro jazz to jazz funk, jazz rock to nu soul and everywhere in-between. Presently, the JAZZ RE:FRESHED weekly live sessions charge an intentionally low entrance fee, even though the caliber of performers (AZYMUTH, RAMP, MARK DE CLIVE-LOWE, KAIDI TATHAM, BEMBE SEGUE, JASON YARDE, ESKA, THE REBIRTH, FERTILE GROUND, DWIGHT TWIBBLE, LEON WARE, JADE FOX…to name but a few) would justifiably demand a premium door tax when playing the large established venues.

Now 'BUGZ IN THE ATTIC' and 'UPROCK' member Daz-I-Kue, along with LOTUS has brought this visionary event to the Bay Area who will spin the roots of jazz to the cutting edge, drawing influences from all over the world, while bringing talented live acts that will touch and explore the aspects of jazz. For the first show we bring SILHOUETTE BROWN.

Silhouette Brown resides in the US and emerges from the ranks of London’s musical hub. Produced by the trilogy that is DEGO (2000 BLACK/4HERO), KAIDI TATHAM (2000 BLACK/AGENT K/BUGZ IN THE ATTIC) and co-writing/production talents of BEMBE SEGUE, Silhouette Brown is currently joined by the unmistakable vocal sounds of Philadelphia’s LADY ALMA. LADY ALMA has appeared on countless club classics from Sylk130’s ‘WHEN THE FUNK HITS THE FAN’ to the Mercury Award nominated 4HERO'S ‘HOLD IT DOWN’. Soaring with a distinctive soulful voice with elements rooted in church, Lady Alma displays all her versatility and warm spirit alongside a unique live band.

This band delivers future-soul sonics that are edgy with promising sounds that dive into relaxed soulful-head-nods for an uplifting live experience.
